Blog Tour: A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp

Standard

Blog TourBook 1 Cover KDP2 midsizeA Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp: Book 1 of the Secrets of Farbookonia Series

Once you find out your mother is an alien, what ISN’T possible?!

That’s what 12-year-old Anne and 10-year-old Atticus Reade want to know. Minutes after learning that their mother is from the planet Farbookonia and that their parents’ secret project has put them all in danger, the children are wrenched from their sheltered existence in the Midwest and whisked off to a safe sleep-away camp in New Jersey — each with a tiny, protective “Globot” on one shoulder.

Painfully aware they’re not like the others at camp, Anne and Atticus do their best to fit in while concealing their alien background and the “special talents” that go with it. But everything is so new to them, they have a hard time sorting reality from fiction. Quirky campers, campfire ghost stories, a bizarre camp director, Anne’s mysterious dreams, and Atticus’s unusual animal encounters are all equally disturbing.
Just as they start getting the hang of life among young Earth humans, a broadcast on the Rec Hall TV shakes things up, and things that are truly strange emerge from normal newness. It turns out Anne and Atticus — and their new friends — may not be safe at camp after all. A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp soon thrusts them into a reality they wish was fiction.

Character Interview With Maylin Sòng (Anne’s Bunkmate in A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp)

Q. Welcome, Maylin! Thanks for agreeing to talk to us. Should we get started? What is your favorite thing about yourself?
A. Oh. Well, that’s kind of an embarrassing question. So-o-o … hmm. Okay, I guess I’m — wait, really? I mean, I hate to use up my pass on the first question but … Yeah. Pass.

Q. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
A. Much easier! I would be more — patient? When I have something on my mind, I can’t think about anything else. Even if there’s nothing I can do about it. Like right now, for instance. Anne’s father gave me Anne’s email address, but I have to wait until they get moved into their new house and someone sets up her computer and hopefully a phone. Right now we can’t video or talk or even write because Dark Ages! How did people even live before technology?! It’s only been one day — and I probably only have to wait a day or two more — but I can’t take my mind off it. It’s a problem. I need to talk to her. When she finally logs on, she’s going to see about 50 emails from SO-not-patient me!

Q. You talk about your mom in A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp, and we meet her at the end of camp. Who else is in your family?
A. *shrugs* My dad’s not really in the picture, you know? It’s okay that you asked, but I don’t really want to talk about him. And I totally hate it when someone gets all “oh I’m so sad for you” over that, so please, don’t be sad for me! I’m not sad so I don’t really know who you’d be sad for. I live with my mom and Aunt Mingmei (my mom’s younger sister) and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Q. No judgment! Sounds cozy! So what’s your favorite thing to do together as a family?
A. Yay! Another easy one: Watching movies together at home. All three of us love it. If competitive analyzing and talking was a thing, my mom and Aunt Mingmei would be the world champions. When I was little, they sat on either side of me and talked to me through every movie we watched to make sure I got stuff! I loved it then, but when I got older it got annoying because I wanted to get stuff on my own. So get this: Now they take notes so they don’t forget what they want to talk about! After the movie’s over, I just sit back at let them go at it. I can barely listen as fast as they can talk! The thing is, they’re super interesting. And I totally love it when I say something they didn’t think of. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, they go quiet for about 10 whole seconds, then take off again, only on the reboot they include what I said! Okay, so it’s nerd joy …

Q. In A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp, Anne and Atticus go to camp for the first time. But you’ve spent other summers at the same camp. How was this summer different?
A. Wow, how wasn’t it different? Did you ever do that thing with two magnets where they snap together? That’s how Anne and I became friends. It was instant. I never had a friend like that before. But really, everyone was different — and not just because we were a year older. I think because Anne and Atticus were new and questioned everything, we all started asking ourselves the same things. Like yeah, why is so-and-so always so mean? And why do I hang out with this person and not that one? You know? It’s like we all suddenly realized we had choices — then these invisible gears rotated, shuffling people I already knew into this perfect group of friends! Who knew that was even possible?! Amazing. And that doesn’t even touch on the bad stuff (which Marie said I shouldn’t talk about by the way). So the short answer? Before and after. My life will be forever divided into what it was like before this summer and whatever comes after it.

Q. It’s pretty clear from A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp that you really like science fiction. A. You can say it. It’s okay: I’m a little obsessed. No, wait — you can’t be “a little” obsessed – obsessed means “a lot,” right? So okay, I’m just obsessed. I don’t skip meals or not do my homework because of it or anything, but I’m definitely into it. Wait – what was the question?

Q. I haven’t asked it yet! If you could be in any science fiction movie ever made, what would it be.
A. Wow. Okay. Right back to before and after. Up until this summer, I would have said Star Wars. I wouldn’t want to be a character though. I’d want to be a techie behind the scenes — the one in charge of the robots. I kind of have — had — a thing for C3PO and R2D2. Dream job: Keeping the robots in line. But that’s all changed. You do get that my very own life became science fiction this summer, right? For as long as I can see into the future, I think reality’s going to be enough for me — it might even be more than I can handle.

Q. What would be the perfect gift for you?
A. *big smile*

Q. I sense that you are thinking about your perfect gift …
A. *bigger smile*

Q. Okay, you’re right. This is a no-brainer. A robot?
A. * huge smile while nodding vigorously*

Q. All right, Maylin. Thank you so much for talking to us today. In A Brief Stay at Earth Human Camp, you promised Anne and Atticus you’d send them a sci-fi watch-list after camp, and I understand you’re going to share it with us, too. Is there anything you want to say about it?
A. Oh, yes! Thanks. Well, first of all, this list could easily have been 100 titles long. It was SO hard to keep it to 20! To make it work, I tried to define science fiction as our relationship to science, space, or the future. This eliminated paranormal and horror, which is an arguable distinction, but definitely helped me stick to the limit. Also, I tried to choose an early representative of what you might call each subgenre, then didn’t repeat other examples in that category. For example, I included Gozilla, but left out Mothra and King Kong. The way I see it, if you love Gozilla, you’ll be motivated to seek the others out. As another example, I included The Thing From Another World, but left out The Blob. (Heehee, notice I just secretly added some titles to the list?) There are definitely some places where this gets blurry. That probably just reflects my personal taste. The only other thing I would say is that, in terms of how sci-fi has evolved so far, you can’t leave out sci-fi books! But that’s a topic for another day. ☺

Marie C. Collins lives in Lambertville, New Jersey (USA), with her two dogs, George Eliot and Henry James, who — in spite of their snoring and a tendency to sniff horrifying things — are very good company (and in return, willingly endure Marie’s insistence that they love being kissed on their snouts).

Marie holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from Douglas College at Rutgers University and a master’s degree in English Literature from Temple University. She has held sundry jobs throughout her life, like caregiver, cook, waitress, newspaper reporter, and even a brief, misguided stint as a ballroom dance teacher. However, for most of her adult life she has written for hire, usually on topics related to education, as writing is the thing she likes to do best.

Marie has a daughter she adores, Laurel Pellegrino, who is now a doctor in Seattle.

Throughout Marie’s life, she has at times felt like an alien — mostly because she was extremely shy and didn’t react to things the way other people did. When she decided it was time to try to write a novel, she found herself wondering what it would be like to actually be an alien — then it struck her that that might be a good place to start. But since she’s also intrigued by the way cultures blend to make each of us feel a bit “different,” she decided her aliens should be half Earth human as well.

Marie is currently writing the second book in her Secrets of Farbookonia series: The Quest for Normal. Her goal is to publish it at the end of 2015.

Top Ten Animated Feature Films

1. Beauty and the Beast
My favorite and the most beautiful love story of all time. I really identify with Belle and have always adored the concept of a monster or beast being in a romantic relationship with a human woman. No matter how many times I watch it it still makes me cry when the beast says that he loves Belle. I’ve even seen the play as a child. No story will ever be as good as this one for me. I love it, I feel it and I breathe it.
2. Kung Fu Panda
The humor was just out of this world. Especially the opening. The animation and all the action is also outstanding. I’ve watched the first movie and the sequel which is also pretty damn good. Now I can’t wait for the 3rd movie to come out!
3. Monster House
As a kid, I’ve watched the version which was synchronized to my mother tongue and it just blew my mind when I heard people swearing in an animated movie. Also, the kid that did the voice of Chowder was incredible. I can’t stress that enough. I adored his performance in that movie.
4. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
A very adult animated movie. Very strong and dark. The voice acting and animation, it was spectacularly good. The only thing I really hated was those comic relief gargoyles. They really ruined the mood of the movie at times and I hate them for trying to” brighten up” such a brilliant, dark story. I found them insulting that way.
5. Wreck-It Ralph
The animation and the story was so captivating that it totally made me miss the most obvious clue that would have revealed to me who the villain was going to end up being. That’s how good it was. I’m usually the one to always predict the twist endings in movies, but this movie intrigued me so much that I failed to do that. Well played, Wreck-It Ralph. Well played.
6. The Princess and the Frog
Louisiana voodoo? Oh yeah! The music was pretty darn good and the villain was epic! As a voodoo fan, I’ve really grown to like him. Also, the dancing scene with Tiana and Naveen was just adorable.
7. Lilo & Stitch
A cherished childhood memory. Also, I used to think Pleakley was kinda hot.
8. Kronk’s New Groove
Another cherished childhood memory that made me fall in love with the voice of Patrick Warburton. Amazing voice actor.
9. Monster High: 13 Wishes
The voice actress of Gigi is astounding. The way she portrays her voice is honey for my ears. Plus, I really enjoyed the villain, Gigi’s shadow. She was also creepy at times, but in a really good way. This movie was really great because of the psychological observation of the characters such as Gigi, her sister, Cleo and Clawdeen. It’s superior compared to… ugh… Welcome to Hauntlywood… They really lowered their standards. I mean really lowered them. From a movie like 13 Wishes that had a great story, great characters that had complexity, they went to a movie with 70% marketing new toys, 20% comic relief and 10% garbage. Compared to the brilliance of 13 Wishes, Welcome to Hauntlywood was simply heinous.
10. The Book of Life
Although I haven’t seen it yet, based on the trailer, I gave it 10th place because of the epic animation, awesome voice acting and the fact that I adore Dia de los Muertos.

Mia Dennsi is a beautiful young woman who has experienced a challenging childhood. As an out of work teacher, Mia accepts a position for home-schooling a troubled, misunderstood teenager. Mia makes it a priority to help Cassidy overcome her challenges and reach for her dreams. In the process, Mia experiences healing of her own; she is faced with issues she must now come to terms with.

Mia finds a rare friendship in Jamie, her caring and attractive neighbor. The relationship starts off as friendship, but will Mia let this healthy friendship bloom into something more or is she destined to a repeat the vicious cycle of making the same mistakes over and over again?

Through the various twists and turns of Mia’s love life, she is forced to make a decision that will affect her entire future. The reader cannot help but root for this character to succumb to true love and happiness.

Wherethereislove1

Questions for main character, Mia:

  1. Q: I see that you’re a special education teacher. How did you first decide to pursue that career?

A: Mia: I guess you could say that I grew up with a lot of alone time. As an only child whose father left when I was small and being raised by a mom who was wrapped up in her career as a fashion designer, I vowed that I would help others who may be faced with challenging situations. My best friend, Sarah, has a brother named Billy who has learning disabilities. I have a special place in my heart for Billy and love spending time with him and Sarah. Some of my best memories include the times I spent with them. I have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and now I have that chance.

  1. Q: Why did you decide to home-school a high school student? Do you prefer this type of position as opposed to having your own class?

A: Mia: It’s funny, I’ve always thought that I would teach younger students, elementary school age. However, it seemed that there were always budget cuts and my positions prior to this involved maternity leave positions in which the teacher always returned. It’s discouraging that jobs are so hard to come by in today’s economy. The last few years, I supported myself by subbing and waitressing at a restaurant in town. Just as I was losing hope, I received a call asking if I wanted to home-school a high school senior. Imagine that! I never thought that I would work with teenagers, and as a matter of fact, I thought about declining the interview right there on the phone. Something inside of me told me that I had nothing to lose, so I decided to show up for the interview.

  1. Q: Why was the student being home-schooled? Why couldn’t she finish her senior year at the high school?

A: Mia: Well, that’s a very good question and that’s exactly what I wanted to know. The question was met with an abrupt, vague answer. I was told that the young teen was troubled and that she couldn’t get along with other students at the school. Of course, I delved deeper and eventually discovered that this girl was being bullied and that nobody believed her side of the story. Cassidy’s self-esteem was crushed and I promised myself that I would help this girl believe in herself. I wanted to look deeper into the bullying situation and try to help Cassidy cope with her feelings.

  1. Q: It sounds like you have a very rewarding career. Can we talk about your personal life? Is there a boyfriend in the picture?

A: Mia: I haven’t had much luck in the romance department. Past boyfriends haven’t always been the best choices for me. I suppose you could say that right now I’m kind of torn between a guy that I had a huge crush on and a neighbor whom I’ve become close friends with. I’ve never been friends with a guy like my neighbor before, Jamie is everything that a woman could ask for.

Q: But?

A: Mia: It’s complicated, let’s leave it at that for now. The thing is, I don’t want to lose Jamie as a friend.

Q: It seems that you have a lot to think about. The choice seems clear to me, what’s the issue?

A: Mia: Like I said, it’s complicated, but I can’t imagine my life without Jamie.

  1. Q: I see. Let’s move on. I’m curious to see if you helped Cassidy. If there’s one thing that you have learned in life that you could advise someone who is going through a rough time, what would it be?

A: Mia: I don’t think that I’m an expert on giving advice, but I can tell you this, be kind to yourself, believe in yourself and hold true to your dreams. I have a lot to learn myself, but I feel that I’m getting there, if you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else is going to. Hold your head high and keep your focus, that’s what I would say, don’t let anybody crush your dreams.

  1. What are your ambitions for your writing career?

I have many ambitions for my career as a writer. I wish to promote the books that I already have published so that I can share my stories with others. The use of social media has been tremendously helpful to me, now I would like to expand my reach to my local area as well. I would be thrilled to participate in book signings, visit with local libraries and other venues. I would also like to continue to write more books because I have so many ideas that I want to see come to life in print. I have learned a lot during the writing and publication process already, but I feel that there’s so much more information out there to gain. One of my goals is to connect with more authors and collaborate on many aspects of writing. I think it would be great to attend more author events and conferences to mingle with fellow authors.

  • Which writers inspire you?

The list could go on and on. There are truly so many talented authors that have inspired me to write my own stories. Nicholas Sparks is right up there, he writes touching love stories that have great plots that stay with you long after you have finished reading his books. I guess you could say I have eclectic tastes in books, many years ago I was a huge Dean Koontz fan, I also enjoy reading James Patterson, Jodi Picoult and Lisa Jackson. In a way, all of these authors have inspired me.

  • If you could say give advice to one of your characters who would it be and what would you tell them?

It would have to be Mia in Where There is Love. Without giving away too much of the plot, I would advise her to give herself a break and look at all she has accomplished. Mia is a strong, beautiful character that struggles with her past. I would tell her that she can do anything she puts her mind to and that she deserves happiness.

  • What was the hardest thing about writing your latest book?

My latest book is a young adult fantasy story about a young teen who feels that the grass is always greener everywhere else. I had so much fun writing this story as it was my first real young adult novel, my other novels fall into the genre of contemporary romance. The hardest thing was to think about my main character’s age and try to convey the thoughts of a young teen throughout the text. Also, the story’s setting focuses on an underwater village filled with mermaids. It was challenging to place my characters in the ocean and portray the actions of these characters from this setting. My antagonist in this book was complicated, however, she was also a lot of fun to create. Overall, withstanding some challenges, I had a great time creating this story. I think it’s important for authors to challenge themselves, that’s how we grow as writers.

  • Tell us about the cover/s and how it/they came about.

Oh, I love my covers! I’m so excited to display my covers while marketing and showing others my books. My cover for At First Sight is perfect for this story. The cover is fun and flirty, it portrays my characters perfectly. My main character, Annie, reluctantly tries online dating after her divorce while holding out for the idea of love at first sight. The cover has a computer mouse in the center of the beautiful cover. My publisher, Astraea Press, provided the cover for this book and the designer, Cora Graphics, was wonderful to work with. They asked for descriptions of the characters and setting, the theme of the book and feedback from me. I loved that cover immediately.

The cover for Where There is Love, published by Solstice Publishing, is another perfect fit for my book. I selected Classy Designs to create the depiction of my main character, Mia, and the setting of my story. I communicated my thoughts for the cover with Classy Designs and I was excited to see the final cover meet my needs. Classy designs was flexible and easy to work with. I think it’s so important to have a cover design that catches the reader’s eye, I’m pleased to have covers that I’m so proud to speak about.

Book Blurb –

The rise of the Black Eagles was meteoric, from band practice in the garage to global stars almost overnight.
And Melissa Webb, the beautiful girlfriend of the front man, appeared to have it all.
But when Luke Black disappears without a trace and Melissa wakes up in a hospital bed after a savage attack, her perfect world is shattered and their lives are plunged into a potentially deadly crisis.
Where is Luke, and can he be found before it is too late?

Me (1)

Kat Green was born Nov 1979 into a military family, and moved around alot during her childhood. This shaped her into the person she is today. At ease with meeting new people and adapting to new surroundings. Her family roots are from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Kat now lives with her husband and son on the south coast of England, Portsmouth. She doesn’t pretend to be the best, and is still growing as a writer and having fun along the way. She loves books and has a busy imagination. Her love for music plays a big part in her first nove, Strings, and she can be found mainly at gigs around the UK. In 2010 she lost her mother to blood cancer and it was time to put her words on a page and stop worrying about what people might say, ‘Life is too short and precious to waste’ is her motto. Writing is her passion and her escape. If you like what she does, she says ‘Thank you!’ For those who don’t, she says ‘Thanks for giving her a chance.’

Kat Green: Interview.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I’ve always wanted to write a book. I penned my first when I was 11, no idea what happened to it, but I do remember elements of it are in Strings. The story isn’t the same in the sense of it being about a rock band, or fame but the Amber part was. Losing my mum 4 years ago made me realize life is short and it was about time I did what I really wanted to do before it was too late. Sometimes there isn’t a tomorrow.

How did you come up with the title?

The name changed 4 times until I decided on Strings. There are lots of different events in the book that are surrounded by being tied to something, or a form of Strings being involved. Amber said ‘No Strings attached.’ Guitars have Strings, the boys signing a contract which ties them into something. I just thought it was a perfect name.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

It didn’t start of that way. As the story unfolded I began to see a message. Everything has a price. If something is worth the fight, you fight hard for it. And, that even boys in bands can fall in love. There is a stigma attached to being a ‘Rock Star’ that it’s all sex, drugs and groupies. I know a lot of bands and it really is not the case for all. I know lots of people in bands who are in committed relationships, they gig and they go home. Of course, I am not saying it doesn’t happen, we all know it does. My main one is the power of friendship. True friends can conquer anything together. And, so can true love but you have to be willing to take the bad as well as the good. And, that fame isn’t what people think it is, it can be a very lonely place. Famous people are human to and they had bad times and money doesn’t buy you everything. Money was no good to Melissa when Luke went missing, it was useless.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I think every writer thinks they could have done it better or changed this or that. I did that for a long time, and eventually you just have to let it be. Once I was finally able to sit back and say ‘Yes. It’s ready’ It was time to let it go. I could change things, but I have no desire to do it.

What’s the best thing you enjoy about writing?

Creating people and building a world all of my own.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Be brave. Write what is in your heart and soul. Be at peace that your book won’t be liked by everyone and not to take it too much to heart. It’s a big world out there and everyone has different taste. Be grateful for those who do like it and support you. Focus on that and don’t let it knock your confidence.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Yes. Thank you. You’re all Awesome for giving my book a chance. It means a lot to me.

Which Character/s did you create first?

Melissa and Beth were always in my mind, and they never changed. Well, apart from Melissa whos name change twice before I settled on Melissa. She was Stephanie at one stage. Names always seem to be important to me they have to be just right. Then Luke was created, who was actually Dean at the very start.

How important is music to you?

Music is a massive passion of mine. I love finding new bands and going to gigs.

What are you working on at the moment?

The sequel to Strings, and planning the third and last one.

Q1: How old were you when you started playing guitar?
LB: I was Twelve. My mum gave me Chloe, my acoustic guitar on my twelve birthday. That guitar is like another best friend, if anything ever happened to her it would be tragic. And, people better hide for a few weeks. I have poured my heart out with her. I think she knows more about me than anyone.

Q2: What was the first song that you wrote? And, Why?
LB: Pink Ribbons was my first song. Chloe, was my first best friend, we meet when we were 5, even then I had an eye for the girls. ( Luke laughs, but then frowns.) She died in a house fire on her seventh birthday, her death impacted on me so much. I was 7 years old and I didn’t understand it, how could she be gone. I had all these things I wanted to say, and I didn’t know how to. So, I didn’t and I locked her away. The guitar came along and suddenly I found an outlet. Turns out, I’m pretty good at it. It was the only way I could move on and accept it. But, without letting her go completely, it was after writing that song I decided to name my guitar after her.

Q3: If Chloe was still alive, do you think she would be your girlfriend?
LB: I often ask myself that. I don’t know if she would have been in my life romantically, but as a friend, Yes. I would do anything to have her back. A part of me thinks she was removed to allow me to meet Melissa, or maybe not. I don’t know, and I guess I never will understand it. Why people do stupid things for fun, and ultimately end a life. She is my little Angel who I believe has always been with me. I’ve never forgotten her. She’s be a riot though, she was funny even at 6, and I know I loved her.

Q4: If you were not in a band or doing anything music related. What job would you be doing?
LB: I would still be working in a petrol station. Dying of boredom. I try not to think about it. I’m doing the only thing I want to do and have any skill in and it’s the best thing in the world. I’m the happiest person in the world when I’m on stage.

Q5: What was it like to go from playing to 20 people in a pub to what you’re doing now?
LB: Mind blowing, insane and I am still in shock. Everyone dreams of it but not everyone gets it. I am so thankful for every fan we have, we have some incredible fans. Some have been with us from the very start. Some have become friends. It’s nice.

Q6: What song is your favourite to perform?
LB: That’s easy ‘Weekend High’ I wrote that when I was twenty after a really bad relationship. It wasn’t really a relationship but at the time I didn’t see it, it was just convenience and there was no love there. Also, the fans go nuts to it.

Q7: Which gig has been your favorite so far?
LB: Now, that is harder to answer because every gig is amazing for all kinds of reasons. I don’t think it would be fair to choose one. That is like saying to one set of fans ‘Oh you were great’ and make other fans feel like you are dissing them. But, for sentimental reasons our third gig at Ruby’s back home will always be special. I meet my Liss there and it was what changed everything for me, and us as a band.

Q8: It’s a Saturday night and you’re not on tour. What would you be doing?
LB: I don’t see my girlfriend very much, so we would either be catching up at home. (Luke winks and laughs) or I would be writing new material. I don’t really have spare time. I feel like I always have something to work on, or prepare for. When I’m on tour that is like my party time, and when I’m home I try to calm down from it all.

Q9: Who is your best friend?

LB: My band are my best mates but the ultimate title goes to Dale. He’s always there for me even when I’m being a dick, we’ve know each other for about 100 years. He’s a fucking ace best friend and he’s not a bad guitarist either.

Q10: What would you like to say to your fans about the gossip that surrounds you?
LB: That most of it is complete and utter Bollocks. If you haven’t heard it from me the chances are it isn’t true. And, Just to clarify the latest story. The band are not splitting up. My girlfriend isn’t sleeping with my drummer, doesn’t have a drink problem and isn’t pregnant. Whoever writes this crap are fucking idiots. I don’t care what they write about me, but I do care when my girlfriend is sobbing because people are calling her all kinds of things in the street or online.

Q11: What annoys you about being in the limelight?
LB: Before I answer this I’d like to say that for band reasons I have no problem with it. Being in front of people with all eyes on me is part of my job. It’s important to my career. What I don’t understand is people’s need to lie. As, I just stated in my last answer. What is the point of it? What is entertaining about making up stories that my girlfriend is sleeping with one of my band, not cool. My band are very close to Melissa, like her big brothers and that’s the end of it. Plus, do you really think Toby would still be in the band? No, he’d be out on his arse if he betrayed me like that. I wouldn’t still be with Melissa either, do people really think I’m a mug and would allow that? No. I wouldn’t.

Q12: Do you have any regrets?
LB: Yes. I would rather not say as it’s something that is causing me issues currently and I wish I could turn the clocks back so I never meet this person. That’s all I’m willing to say.

Q13: What would you say annoys others about you?
LB: I’m a perfectionist. I drive everyone mad at times. We could have completely nailed a song but I will be thinking about making it better. I worry about things more then the others. There have been times where I’m trying to change a set list minutes before a show and that winds people up.

Q14: Would you change anything about the band?
LB: Hell no! We’re in a good place and there’s nobody else I would consider doing this with. They are my best mates and we have a laugh and without them I would be nowhere. Anyway, I don’t think anyone else would put up with me.

Q15: Dale dates Melissa’s best friend and you met each other on the same night. Is it difficult , best friends dating best friends?
LB: Apart from the fact the girls are pretty much joined at the hip, meaning I never get rid of Dale.. Nah, I’m kidding. To be honest the girls are more rock and roll than we are. Beth is great and she makes my BF happy and it’s nice to know they look after each other when we’re on the road.

Q16: You have 48 hours to live. What would you do?
