Rebecca Weeks is a British author currently living in Leicester with her Fiancé Kevin and cat (Kitty). She has always loved reading and writing. Growing up she loved the Harry potter books (like most of us) and has followed JK Rowling from a young age. Reading fantasy inspired her to write fantasy as well. Growing up in Devon gave her the inspiration for her book as it is full of folklore, myths and legends. She started reading at a very young age and believes that reading is the greatest escape from reality.

The two places she would love to visit would be New Orleans and New York. As well as writing, she also owns a business making and selling fine jewellery online, owns her own blog where she talks about myths and legends and at the end of 2014 she will be attending university to study her BA Honours degree in English literature.

Book Blurb:

The house next door had always been a little creepy. But when her father began to tell stories of his own childhood, Melody Jackson knew this wasn’t going to be an average summer vacation. Great summer read.  Quirky know-it-all girls are rarely the star of a novel.  Join Melody Jackson and her funny family as they just try to live their lives amidst the chaos.

Jazzy’s Review of “Melody Jackson and the House on Lafayette Street

This book was written with to much happening at one time, it kept me on my feet and my mind working and wondering if and when Melody would meet her match or not. Melody was a character that many will fall in love with, with wonderful described tales and an imagination to die for.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a hilarious and witty book full of detail!

Kat Green was born Nov 1979 into a military family, and moved around a lot during her childhood. This shaped her into the person she is today. At ease with meeting new people and adapting to new surroundings. Her family roots are from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Kat now lives with her husband and son on the south coast of England, Portsmouth. She doesn’t pretend to be the best, and is still growing as a writer and having fun along the way. She loves books and has a busy imagination. Her love for music plays a big part in her first novel, Strings, and she can be found mainly at gigs around the UK. In 2010 she lost her mother to blood cancer and it was time to put her words on a page and stop worrying about what people might say, ‘Life is too short and precious to waste’ is her motto. Writing is her passion and her escape. If you like what she does, she says ‘Thank you!’ For those who don’t, she says ‘Thanks for giving her a chance.’
